    1. Big Questions (4)
  • You are not defined by your circumstances by Dominic Muir

    First, watch this!

‘God can heal you without changing your circumstance.’

‘The question was “Why?  Why did You make me this way?”’  The answer was “Do you trust Me? That’s the question.  And when you say yes to that question nothing else matters.’

‘But what was it, specifically for you that said, “Lord, I’m gonna trust Your word because I know it’s true, I’m gonna trust you even if I don’t know what you have in store for me tomorrow.’

‘Because there was nothing else I could find.  There was nothing else that could give me peace.  I knew arms and legs alone couldn’t give me peace.

I didn’t need my circumstances to change – I don’t need arms and legs.  I need the wings of the Holy Spirit and I’m flying because I know Jesus is holding me up – don’t give up on God because God will not give up on you’

‘True peace, joy and fulfilment are independent of circumstances – they are dependant on the presence and will of God in your life.’  Nick Vujicic

You are not defined by your circumstance.

    And Scripture (Amp) concurs!

    1.             Proverbs 15:15

All the days of the desponding and afflicted are made evil [by anxious thoughts and forebodings], but he who has a glad heart has a continual feast [regardless of circumstances].

    2.             Proverbs 28:14

Blessed (happy, fortunate, and to be envied) is the man who reverently and worshipfully fears [the Lord] at all times [regardless of circumstances], but he who hardens his heart will fall into calamity.

    3.             Ecclesiastes 12:13

All has been heard; the end of the matter is: Fear God [revere and worship Him, knowing that He is] and keep His commandments, for this is the whole of man [the full, original purpose of his creation, the object of God's providence, the root of character, the foundation of all happiness, the adjustment to all inharmonious circumstances and conditions under the sun] and the whole [duty] for every man.

    4.             Isaiah 60:1

ARISE [from the depression and prostration in which circumstances have kept you--rise to a new life]! Shine (be radiant with the glory of the Lord), for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord has risen upon you!

    5.             Matthew 1:18

Now the birth of Jesus Christ took place under these circumstances: When His mother Mary had been promised in marriage to Joseph, before they came together, she was found to be pregnant [through the power] of the Holy Spirit.

    6.             1 Corinthians 13:7

Love bears up under anything and everything that comes, is ever ready to believe the best of every person, its hopes are fadeless under all circumstances, and it endures everything [without weakening].

    7.             2 Corinthians 9:8

And God is able to make all grace (every favor and earthly blessing) come to you in abundance, so that you may always and under all circumstances and whatever the need be self-sufficient [possessing enough to require no aid or support and furnished in abundance for every good work and charitable donation].

    8.             Philippians 4:6

Do not fret or have any anxiety about anything, but in every circumstance and in everything, by prayer and petition (definite requests), with thanksgiving, continue to make your wants known to God.

    9.             Philippians 4:12

I know how to be abased and live humbly in straitened circumstances, and I know also how to enjoy plenty and live in abundance. I have learned in any and all circumstances the secret of facing every situation, whether well-fed or going hungry, having a sufficiency and enough to spare or going without and being in want.

    10.           1 Thessalonians 5:18

Thank [God] in everything [no matter what the circumstances may be, be thankful and give thanks], for this is the will of God for you [who are] in Christ Jesus [the Revealer and Mediator of that will].

    11.           2 Thessalonians 3:16

Now may the Lord of peace Himself grant you His peace (the peace of His kingdom) at all times and in all ways [under all circumstances and conditions, whatever comes]. The Lord [be] with you all.

    12.           Hebrews 13:5

Let your character or moral disposition be free from love of money [including greed, avarice, lust, and craving for earthly possessions] and be satisfied with your present [circumstances and with what you have]; for He [God] Himself has said, I will not in any way fail you nor give you up nor leave you without support. [I will] not, [I will] not, [I will] not in any degree leave you helpless nor forsake nor let [you] down (relax My hold on you)! [Assuredly not!]

    13.           James 1:9

Let the brother in humble circumstances glory in his elevation [as a Christian, called to the true riches and to be an heir of God]
